Though Sita was a princess of Mithila, after her marriage she devoted herself completely to Shri Rama and his family. When the time came for Rama to leave for exile, he found it difficult to take Sita along into the hardships of the forest. However, Sita remained firm in her resolve and insisted on accompanying him under all circumstances. This touching episode, which beautifully reflects her love, devotion, courage, and sense of duty, is narrated by Dr. Madhavi Kolhatkar based on the Valmiki Ramayana.
